Life Lesson #2

Dogs can get colds!!! I know it sounds crazy but it is true... Dogs and cats can get colds! I think Jax has one now... He coughs like he is trying to get a hairball out, it is not a constant so I am convinced it is not kennal cough.... Plus he has not been to a kennal... Josh and I have both have colds currently and I looked it up and colds can be transferred from humans to pets and the other way around.... Interesting!! I thought so!

Life Lesson #1

I think that I need to start posting my daily life lessons for all of you who have to figure things out the hard way like myself.... Well not always, however, some of the things I have done I wish I would have learned from someone elses mishaps.... Lukily what I am about to tell you did not turn out bad... It could have!!! So here it is Life Lesson #1 actually more like 10,000 but it will be #1 on my blog and then as days come with new lessons I will share!!
#1- Never leave a candle unattended!! I have heard this about children :) This is what will happen and your walls may start on fire!! Good thing these are floating shelves so the wax basically just suspended in air!! I think it looks cool... But do not try this at home!

Men's Shirts and Women?!?!?

When I feel like lounging around the house I always go to Josh's closet and grab his gym shorts and a t-shirt.... Why do I not just buy my own t-shirt and gym shorts....? What is it about a man's clothing and women? Any insights??? I like that no matter how many times I wash them they still smell like him!!!

Unexpected Birthday Surprise!!!

Kelli pulled a sneaky fast one on me today asking me the name of the dentist I worked for trying to "figure out if that is where her friends sister went...." Of course I fell for it and thought nothing more of it until I went into the staff lounge after lunch to find an amazing arrangement of Gerbera Daisies on the table, oh how they made me smile!! I was even more excited when I saw my name on the card!!! I think that daisies are the happiest flower and I am not just stealing that quote from You've Got Mail.... The colors are so vibrant, exciting, happy and friendly!! Who needs roses when you can color your world with thses?!?!?!
I love, love, love them!!! These are not the acual ones that I received, however, very, very similar!!! I love the bright pink ones, the orange, yellow... ALL OF THEM!!!! Hugs to you Kelli!! You are the best!! MUAH!!!

Things I Hate To Admit... And So Glad I Grew Out Of!!!

With the season change here in Colorado it has drawn a lot of outside insects inside... Just to name a few black crickets, spiders, moths and flies!! Our neighbors have a ton of flies in their house, however, there house is always very clean. I told their daughter Payton not to worry because flies only live for 21 days!! I was informed that I knew a lot about flies... So if all of you must know, here is my secret.... When I was little (Kelli do not laugh.... Ok stop laughing) I used to think that flies were my friends. I called them (Fly Friends) and heaven forbid someone actually killed them... Terrible!!! I am happy to say that after 28 years of therapy flies are no longer my friends... Actually I grew out of that phase quite sometime ago. I think I was probably 7 or 8!! Now, anytime I see a fly in our home I lunge for the dish towel and start swatting!! I take no prisoners and have no mercy!! I just hope that fly season is over soon!! For all you fly lovers, I am sorry that I abandoned ship!!
Another habit I am glad I grew out of was bringing wounded animals home for my dad and mom to fix. We saw our fair share of birds, cats, dogs, etc... all thanks to me! I cannot count all the times my mom begged me to stop bringing these creatures in the house!! I just ignored her wishes and continued to be Mother Theresa of the animal and fly kingdom!!! I learned that cream of wheat fed to a bird through a syringe actually works... However, 10xs out of 10 the birds always died!! Recently I have found 2 dead birds in our backyard... GROSS, I know!! I now realize why my parents begged me to stop!! Cleaning up the dead birds was not a fun task... I felt so bad putting them in the plastic grocery bags and tossing them in the trash... Not even a proper burial! I am waiting patiently for the day when Hailey brings in her first wounded animal.... I will proably get more attached than she will!! So with all this said and my skeltons now out of the closet... What are some childhood habits you grew out of?!?!?! I will not laugh!!! As long as you promise not to use my fly story against me!

Kimberly Loves Her Family!!!

I think this post is WELL overdue!! I just wanted to give a shout out to my family! I think I am very lucky to have a family that loves me so much and who know the perfect time to call and the perfect time to come and visit!! It is not always easy having family so far away but somehow I manage and cherish all the times I get to spend with them and talk to them on the phone!! As some of you know my brother Kevin has taken a temporary job out here in Colorado at an LDS church being built in Commerce City.... He and his crew will be incharge of all the landscaping, planning, etc.... He and two of his guys drove up on Monday, stayed at our house overnight and left at 5:00 on Tuesday morning. I felt so lucky to have been able to spend the time I did with Kevin!! He made me laugh, cry, smile and resurfaced a person I thought was gone!! Thank you so much Kevin for coming up and making my day!! I am looking forward to you guys coming back next March.... Hopefully it will be before then that we get to see you again!!
Kevin usually smiles a little more in picutres however, it were a picutre of me at 5:00am this is about what you would get as well :)
