Lights On... Lights Off

This is by far the most random blog ever!! I just thought I would share this all with you.... Maybe some of you have experienced this at one point in time!! Josh and I have lived in our home for almost 4 months..... (This is not what I am talking about... I know you have all lived somewhere for 4 months) Anyway, I have yet to learn which light switch goes to what lights... I counted how many switches we have at our house..... 38!!! That is a lot!!! Well to me that is a lot!! It boggles my mind that there are 3 switches just to turn on the lights in the hall going up the stairs... One at the bottom of the stairs, one at the top of the stairs and finally one 3 feet away in the hall way!! I now understand why I was going nuts while painting.... Unscrewing and screwing in all these stinkin' face plates!!! Do not even get me started on the electrical outlets!! Whew!! I feel better!! How many switches are in your home?!?!?!

Unexpected Visitors!!!

About a month ago as I was leaving work I noticed a couple of police cars in our office parking lot and a lot of people standing around!! I did not think much of the sight, all I wanted to do was get home and unwind from a crazy day!! A couple of my coworkers were already out in the parking lot and they saw me coming... "KIM, hurry!!" I said, "Did someone steal my car, thinking I would have been lucky!!!" As I got closer I realized that someone had smashed in my passanger window!! The crazy thing is the little @&$%& took absolutely nothing!!! There were two other vehicles close to mine that were also broken into.... However, they were not as lucky as I was because some of their things had been stolen!!! The cops think they were some teenagers out for a little thrill and a good time!! That was a no brainer.... It is not as if there were 3 elderly patients from the memory loss facility right down the street (Bob's next home, so he claims) I could just see them on the motorized scooters with bed pan's in their hands!! Got one, got two, got three.... Come on Eugine that is enough windows for the afternoon, Ethel has dinner on the table and I need to get home!! Maybe we can finish tomorrow!!! Of course it was teenagers!!!! Thankfully my boss allowed me to use her vehicle over the weekend until my window was able to get fixed!!! Knock on wood this is the only big thing that has ever happened to a vehicle of mine and I was not even in the car!! I now try to avoid parking in between big vehicles!!

Hospital Call!!

Today we took a little 6 year old special needs patient to the hospital to do his treatment!! Sometimes with the little tykes and patients with special needs it is the only way to treat them safely!! We frequent the O.R about once a month!! We took our blue bonnets off so that we could snap this picture!! We have to cover ourselves head to toe when we go to the operating room!! We have to wear bonnets, hospital scrubs and booties over our shoes. Craziness!!! Our little patient friend today had a lot of work to do!! Poor little fella!! After we were finished I went into the back room to wash my hands and saw the coolest thing!!! You can see into other rooms what is going on and I happened to see a woman who had just received breast implants and was in the process of having liposuction and a tummy tuck!! I wish I could have watched a little longer!! It is amazing to me how they transform the human body... It looked painful at the same time!! I watched as the skin on the stomach area was being lifted up and then situated where it needed to be... It did not look real to me at all!! I am sure the woman is a little sore this evening, however, pleased with her results... I am assuming it was a woman.... If not, I would have been a lot more interested!! Just teasing!! I seem to always be at the right place at the right time... I have seen some pretty interesting things there but this by far took the cake!!

Nothing Beats a Good Pair of Jeans!!!

For all of you who know me... Hopefully if you are reading our blog you do know us, even if it is through your friends mothers cousins husbands sister-in-laws dog breeder.... Know that I love to think random thoughts and I do not hessitate to share.... Sometimes they make sense other times you are left scratching your head, myseld included!! Here is my attempt to share yet another random thought!!

I have come to the conclusion that a job is like a good pair of jeans!!! You may try on many and they may fit you well in certain areas however they may not work so well in others... You all know where!! I want the perfect job!! I want it to fit me well all over!!! I do not want it to fit me well in the hips but pucker out at my waist! I do not want it to fit me at the waist but not at the hips... UGH I could go on forever about the different shapes of women and jeans!! I am sure we have all been there!! So needless to say I am on the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans!! Or maybe I will just settle for a cute new pair of shoes... They are much easier to shop for!!!!

I Can Not Wait!!!

"It hasn't happened yet but we are very excited" Well I am very excited!! I go to the Orthodontist on October 11th to find out when these railroads are coming off!! Union Pacific will need to find a new route!! I will keep you all posted!! FYI- Union Pacific is a railroad company!!!!

6 more days until HALO 3 is out!!!!

May I Take Your Order!!

Tonight was quite the adventure!! My friend Jessica her little girl Taylor and I go walking ever night... Well, almost every night and tonight was no exception! However, tonight we decided that we were going to rollerbalde instead!! As the blading progressed Taylor who is 2 years old decided that she needed to wear the rollerblades on her feet.... PEAS PEAS PEAS as she pointed to her feet! We were blading on a trail that ran along side a canal.... As you can imagine there were bugs all over, a short while later I hear this hacking coming from Jess.... She announced that she just swallowed a bug... I was laughing at her reaction. Little did I know that my fate would soon follow! I swear that bug is still swinging on my uvula like it was on a rope haning above a canyon. Jess ended up falling down 3 times and I laughed so hard each time. However, her first fall was classic since it was on a main highway in front of others!! I am sure I was not the only one laughing. We ended up going a lot further than anticipated and it took us forever to get back to the car.... I saw a McDonalds in the parking lot and asked Jess if she would be up for an ice cream cone.... I know... Lets go work out and then eat ice cream!! We get to McDonalds and the madness continues!! We place our order and the the lady says "IS THAT ALL" and Jess replies "Yes" then total silence.... the total begins to flash at the bottom of the screen... Ok that was random... Then we get up to the 1st window to pay the mean lady... There were 2 other cars in front of us so needless to say we could not pull any further.... The mean lady sticks her head out the window and proceeds to tell Jess that she needs to pull forward to get her food.... Does she want a stinking car accident?!?! I guess that would spice up her day a little more! She tells the mean lady that there is nowhere to go.... The mean lady grunts!! Well it sounded like a grunt. Jess looked at me and said does she think I have never been to a McDonalds before? Anyone with kids knows the answer to that... You can not escape the golden arch!! On a road trip your kids can see it on a sign and insisit that you go 20 miles out of your way so that they can get the collector beanie baby that they have for a limited time... Well by time you get there, the limited time offer has just expired!! We finally get our ice cream cones and life is good.... Only for a brief but glorious moment... Jess was given and ice cream cone that was broken in the middle.... That was just the icing on the cake.... And I wonder why I do not frequent the lines at McDonalds!!!

TGIF!!!

Well almost..... I am thrilled that tomorrow is Friday!! This week went by crazy fast however, it seemed to linger at the same time.... Is that possible?!?! I am so used to the time changing back in October but they decided not to change it back until November!!! I am ready to fall back!! I love getting that extra hour of sleep!!! I am most excited about the thought of possibly being able to sleep in on Saturday morning!! YEAH!!! It will probably only be until 8:00 or so but that is much better than 6:30!!! I hope all of you have a great weekend!!! Enjoy the nice weather while it lasts!!

12 days and counting :)

The debut of HALO 3!! (Moment of Silence)

"It is the year 2552. Humanity has long been at war with the terrifying alien civilization that collectively calls itself The Covenant. The war with the Covenant has reduced humanity to ragged tatters. Master Chief is the last fighting member of the legendary Spartan II military program and humanity's last, best hope."

I do not know about anyone else but the count down is on at our house!! Halo 3 comes out September 25th at 12:01am!!! I keep getting subtle little hints from Josh about how his birthday is coming up and how the 7-11 down the road is pre-selling them and how I would be his favorite wife if I got it for him... Ok he did not say that but yes he has been dropping little hints to me!! Carley, I know Brant is into X-box; is this the buzz around your home?!?!?

I am officially counting down... 13 more days until a hero will rise!!!

This post is dedicated to Josh.... May he go out and conquer!!!

Lifes Simple Pleasures!

Last year while shopping at bed bath and beyond I found a great little toaster/egg poacher!! I thought that it would be so much fun to make breakfast muffins at home!! However, I decided that I should hold off on the purchase. I was talking to my friend/coworker about it and low and behold on one of her bargin shopping outings she found one for $7.00!! We have had it for about a year now and we still love it!! You may all think I am really silly for sharing this with you but I think that it is a quick and easy thing to do in the morning if you are on the run!!! Anyone want to come over for breakfast!?!?!?

YUMMY!!!!! This is what I would consider one of lifes simple pleasures!!!

One Nation Under God!!

Written by Cheryl Sawyer

As the soot and dirt and ash rained down,
We became one color.
As we carried each other down the stairs of the burning building,
We became one class.
As we lit candles of waiting and hope,
We became one generation.
As the firefighters and police officers fought their way into the inferno
We became one gender.
As we fell to our knees in prayer for strength,
We became one faith.
As we whispered or shouted words of encouragement,
We spoke one language.
As we gave our blood in lines a mile long,
We became one body.
As we mourned together the great loss
We became one family.
As we cried tears of grief and loss
We became one soul.
As we retell with pride of the sacrifice of heros
We become one people.

We areOne color
One class
One generation
One gender
One faith
One language
One body
One family
One soul
One people
We are The Power of One.
We are United.
We are America.

I thought this was a great poem and so very appropriate for today and what happened 6 years ago!! May we never forget and never take for granted what is all around us!!

A Family Day!!

Sunday was our office party up at Heritage Square!! This is our VIP (Very Important Patient) party for all the kids in our practice and their families!!! I was excited this year because Josh and Hailey were able to come up for the festivities!! They both had a great time!! Hailey had so much fun riding on the ponies, the train, go karts, etc.... This year turned out to be perfect!! We had a great turn out... about 520 kids!!! Holy smokes, I am still tired thinking about it, and we could not have asked for better weather!! So, so, so much fun!! Thank you Dr. Lisa!!

Where did summer go!!!!

Where did summer go?!?!? Last week we were in the 80's and 90's and today it was 50 something and tonight it is going to be a very chilly 39!! I do not think I am ready for this!! However, tomorrow the highs will be in the 70's!! Crazy for me to think that it is almost 60 degrees warmer in AZ!! This is nuts!! Another month and it will be time to start shoveling the snow off the driveway, walkway and sidewalk. Thanks to the blizzard last year we now own a shovel!! Kelli, we are in this together!!!

Like a rhinestone cowboy!!

My office party is tomorrow at Heritage Square for all of our little patients!! Hailey is so excited that she gets to come ride all the rides and have a picnic!! She is most excited about the pony rides!! Josh and Hailey thought it would be very appropriate for her to have a pink cowgirl hat for the occasion!! On our way home from work last night Hailey and I stopped at Sheplers to see what their selection was.... Yeah! We finally found one!! She was more than thrilled!! We also ventured over to the kid boots and Hailey saw a pair of boots that she absolutely loves!! I am thinking Christmas!! I had her pose for a couple of pictures at the store so we could show them off!! When we got home last night Hailey and I found an outfit in her closet that is perfect for her to wear with her hat, I hope you all enjoy!!

Paging Dr. Giardino

I had quite the little surprise at work today! Hailey came to visit me! Josh had to go into work and I have been working on a project that kept me longer than anticipated!! So Hailey was able to come hang out!! She did all sorts of fun things while at the office!! One of which was playing dentist!! She loved this!! We dressed her for the part! She loved it!

Hailey had a blast riding up and down on the chair, squirting water into her mouth and learning about all the fun things I get to do while at work!! She also helped me decorate my opp by drawing some beautiful picutes to hang on my wall!! She also drew a picture for one of my coworkers!! Since Hailey was such a big help to me for being so patient with all I was doing I took her to toys r us so that she could pick out a toy!! She was in heaven!! Turned out to be a fantastic day!!

27 going on 14!!!

I feel as though I am a teenager again!! I had braces 12 years ago and I liked them so much I thought I would do it again!! Um... Not so much! When we left Arizona for all I know my retainers ended up going to another state... I am not sure where they ended up! Over time things shifted around and I was back at square 1!! Working in the dental field I figured there was no better time to do it again and I would not feel self conscious because most of the kiddos were wearing them... However, they all range from age 8-17!!! Shortly after I had my braces on my in-laws asked Josh if he was robbing the craddle!!! HAHAHA!! Hopefully these suckers wont be on much longer!! I will let you all know when that day finally arrives!!

I was caught!

I was tagged by Kelli!!
Here it goes, 5 things I love about Colorado!!

1. I love that I am finally in the state that I wanted to live in 13 years ago!! I did not realize that I would need to make a couple of pit stops before getting here but it was well worth the wait! Colorado is a great state and I love being here.... However, I have a little bit of southern style in me and I would love to go south someday.... It could happen, never say never!

2. I love living somewhere that enables me to go visit other states to see family!! I love road trips and plane rides! I am grateful that car sickness was a temporary phase while growing up.... However, I wish I could say the same thing about talking and walking in my sleep!! They said that was a phase as well.... Yeah right!

3. I love to watch the summer/fall storms roll in over the mountains and how they linger for hours! I love the smell of rain and I love to hear the rolling thunder! It reminds me of all the summers spent at the campground. I love the rainbows that they tend to leave behind.... I could not believe this one when I saw it. I do not think that I have ever seen a rainbow quite so vibrant!! I love the change of seasons.... Walking into work yesterday I caught a familiar smell.... A couple more weeks and fall will be here!! I am looking forward to the color changes!

4. I love being so close to the mountains and how they outline Denver. I love that I can go up to lookout mountain and see Denver's skyline but still be far enough away from the chaos. I love all the recreational activities that the outdoors has to offer!! I am excited for winter so I can strap on the skis and fly down the slopes!! Tried boarding last year, totally sucked! I think I will stick with skiing!

5. I also love when people come to visit.... HINT HINT HINT.... You know who you are!!! Your room awaits you!! This is the view from our front yard!! On a clear day the view is amazing!

In the mouth or up the nose!

Most of the time you hear about kids sticking marbles, fingers, etc.... up their noses.... Hailey decdided that her nose was the perfect spot for the blue rubber kitten!! She is a goofy girl, certainly keeps us laughing!!

Family Pets!

We discovered at the house today that we have some new pets!! Lovely black field crickets have decided to make our window well their new home! These suckers are ginormous....(Made up word for the day) We have only seen two of them and hopefully that is all there is. We opened the window to get a closer look and one of them decided that it needed to come inside the basement. Luckily it did not make it all the way in and we were able to get back where it was. Hailey thinks that we should name the cricket "Strawberry" As the weather changes I swear all these little creatures seem to take it upon themselves to seek shelter inside them home... I am pretty sure that we need to start charging rent! We could make a fortune!

I wanna help!

Hailey decided today while at our house that she wanted to help me blog.... I told her that she could type her own little blog.... She wanted to know who would read it, I told Hailey anyone who wanted to.... This is what Hailey had to say today! ,ke9rioep[[r;;[ rpr[f;;. friiroiiiii 49 jlkajlkg kg;lfks ksokrerk;lotoktotkotolto4lpppppp. Hailey asked me to transcribe what she had written! She says "Good morning starshine, the earth says hello.... I shake you warmly by the hand!" This is one of Hailey's favorite lines from the newest version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!! We watch that clip over and over and over again. We all play our different rolls and she points to us when it is our turn to say our line!

Jumping in feet first

It is about time!!! After many months of visiting various blog sites, especially my sisters, I have decided to take the plunge!! You will all have to bear with me on this one, I am fairly new.... Well about 1.5 min new! I figured I might as well jump on the band wagon and join in all the cyber fun! First and foremost I must put a disclaimer out there for all of you who believe that I am "OCD" with my exclamation points. Pretty sure this is my favorite puncuation mark! I guess it follows suit with my personality..... I will let you figure that one out on your own!

Josh and I were married January 14, 2006 and we are currently living in Colorado!! I have been here since July of 2000 and have loved every minute of it!! Josh moved here in 2002 from Rapid City, SD! Colorado is such a beautiful state and I cannot complain about the weather!! Much better than Arizona! However, last winter was quite the adventure... We had a blizzard a couple weeks before Christmas and the snow decided that it would make a weekly appearance every Friday and Saturday for the next 7 weeks! The snow at our condo did not melt until March!! That was quite the site. Coors Field ended up being a dumping ground for alot of the snow in Denver. My car got stuck in the parking lot at work so one of my coworkers drove me home. By day 2 actually not even day 2 I got serious cabin fever.. Josh did not feel well so he was most content laying on the couch playing halo.... which I should say he has conquered Halo 1 and 2 and is anxiously awaiting the arrival of Halo 3!!! I decided I would walk to the gas station with my back pack and get him some soup!! I also picked up a few other staples... Dr. Pepper. All sidewalks were under a complete blanket of snow so I braved the streets... Hoping that the cars coming by would slow down so the splashback was not as intense! Surprisingly, I only slipped a couple of times however, I managed to keep my balance and stay grounded! It is a little difficult to carry a backpack full of goods especially when one of them is a gallon of milk!!! I got back home did some stuff around the condo and then went stir crazy again.... Josh had to work in the morning and his car was burried under 4ft of snow.... YIKES!!! We had no snow shovel and the city was shut down..... I had a brilliant idea.... I was going to dig it out with a dust pan..... Yup that is right a handy dandy dust pan.... It worked like magic!! I wish I had the pictures to prove it!!!

Josh's birthday is in Ocotber and last year I had a cake custom made for him!!! I do not know how I am going to top it this year!! Like I said previously, Josh enjoys playing Halo.... Boys night out!!! Child's Pasteries makes the most amazing cakes ever.... For those of you familiar with X-Box, you will get a kick out of this.... Josh loved the cake, I was quite happy as well!! We had a party at a restaurant downtown and I took the cake earlier that day so it was there when we arrived!!! Probably the one and only time I was able to keep a secret!! Christmas and Birthdays always seem to happen a week earlier because I get too excited!!!

Josh and I keep ourselves fairly busy!!! Josh is a courier at Fed Ex and I am a Pediatric Dental Assistant!! All day long I clean the little sugar bugs of little kids teeth!! I do enjoy working with all the little ones!! Especially when I receive thank you cards from my patients or pictures they have drawn.... They are so proud of their work!

Memorial Day weekend we signed on our house!! It is offical we are homeowners! We are tackling quite the project! It has been a lot of work, fun, eventful, scary, rewarding, etc... I was quite the amateur painter however, after painting the 3rd room it was as if I had been doing it for years... Not really just weeks!!! We love our home and like that we can tailor it the way we want! "Home sweet home" We love it!

Josh and I also keep ourselves busy with his little 5 year old daughter Hailey!! She is such a delight and so fun to have around our house! It is nice to hear the pitter patter of little feet running on the hardwood floors on the weekends!! Breaks up our daily routines!! She is a little firecracker and is always on the go!! She always
wants to know how many more days until she gets to come back and visit!! Hailey started Kindergarten this year and loves every minute of it. She started 2 weeks ago and when she came over on Wednesday after school the first thing she said was "Lets play school" we learned all about stop signs and how to raise our hand when we wanted to ask or answer a question.... She certainly was not afraid to send us to the pricipals office if we got out of line! She lines up all of her stuffed animals on the couch so they can also be active participants. Hailey and I enjoy dancing to the cha cha slide!! Dad stands by and watches, probably hoping the song will end on the next note (the song lasts about 5 min) Hailey insists that we play it again!!!

Well there you have it.... A small little glimpse into our lives. Believe me this is all to be continued!!! It seems as though there are not many dull moments here in beautiful Colorado!!
